Man, I've got it bad for this song...I've been listening to it non stop for like 2 weeks now. Last week I was in St. Louis and throughout the 5 hours train ride I had this song and "We Fly High" by Jim Jones on HEAVY rotation. (And odd combination indeed...)
Anywho, Castles in the Snow to me has this weird "umphhh" about it that made it stand out more than the other songs on the mixtape I downloaded it from. It has an awesome blend of digitized tribal percussion during the verses and in the chorus comes the main beat. Melody wise it's really interesting. I took some time to do an 8bit remix of the song (He thought it was tight) and it has an "Old Yeller" vibe to it as far as the whistling and reverbed chaos going on in the background.
Lyrically I have not the slightest clue what the fuck he's talking about but I know them all and I can't wait to go "ahh ahhh" in the chorus after he says "your my favorite daydream". lol
We briefly discussed doing a project in the future but you know how shit goes once you start to blow up cause this song is really starting to take off. Come what may, but if not it's all good. This song's gonna be the shit forever! "aahhh ahhh"
